Andreas Tesch – our CMO and Atradius host for the event series

Andreas Tesch was appointed Member of the Management Board and Chief Market Officer (CMO) in October 2011.

As CMO he is responsible for Atradius Credit Insurance worldwide (excluding Spain, Portugal, and Brazil), and for the units Atradius Dutch State Business, Global, Special Products, and Group Communications & Commercial Development.

Andreas Tesch became Head of Global, Oceania and New Markets of Atradius in 2007 following six years in directorship roles with the company, spanning Risk Services for Central and Eastern Europe and Corporate Development & Communications.

Prior to joining Atradius, Andreas Tesch was Director of Simon Kucher & Partners, where he advised clients on strategy and mergers & acquisitions. Andreas Tesch has a degree in Business Administration from the University of Cologne.

Daisy McAndrew: our moderator for the event series

Daisy McAndrew is a popular conference facilitator with particular expertise in finance and politics. 

The face of the high-profile presenter and media trainer can often be seen flickering on screens as she reviews papers for Sky News, BBC News, and This Morning. She is currently doing regular political commentary for Euronews.

Before leaving ITV News to go freelance, Daisy spent an efficacious seven years there reporting on major issues such as the credit crunch and the recession as its Economics Editor, as well as presenting ITV Lunchtime and Weekend News, and ITV Moral of the Story.

Prior to ITV, she presented (as Daisy Sampson) the BBC's Daily Politics and was BBC Breakfast News' political correspondent.

Before moving into broadcasting, Daisy began a 10-year stint at Westminster writing for newspapers from the Press Gallery, profiling MPs in The House Magazine (which she ultimately edited), and eventually became the Press Secretary for Lib Dem leader Charles Kennedy. 

Daisy was also consultant on the BBC’s A-Z of Politics and edited The Politics Companion, published by Chrysalis books.

She had her own drive time show on LBC Radio as the host of the weekly O2 Business Show in 2013, which uncovered the latest business gossip through discussions with leading British experts.

Other presenting spells include Channel 4's Powerhouse, the BBC's Heaven and Earth Show and BBC Weekend News. She has also been featured on Have I Got News for You?, The Wright Show, Despatch Box, and many Radio 5Live programmes.

As well as acting as a patron of the St John's Hospice and being an active supporter of Crisis, she is the trustee of the Internews Europe which aims to empower local media worldwide to give people the news and information they need.

Daisy’s presenting accolades keep on growing as she adds anchoring London Live to the list. The broadcaster hosted all the coverage surrounding the 2016 London mayoral elections, including breaking news and exclusive interviews.

Dr Linda Yueh

Linda Yueh is Fellow in Economics, St Edmund Hall, Oxford University and Adjunct Professor of Economics, London Business School. A widely published author and broadcaster, she is visiting Professor at LSE IDEAS and Chair of the LSE Economic Diplomacy Commission in addition to a wealth of advisory roles.

Linda is a respected author and has written The Great Economists: How Their Ideas Can Help Us Today, which was selected as the Best Business Book of the Year by The Times in 2018 and Best Non-Fiction of the Year by Newsweek.

Linda is an Adviser to the UK Board of Trade, a Board Director of a number of LSE-listed companies and Chair of The Royal Commonwealth Society. She has advised the World Bank, European Commission, Asian Development Bank, and World Economic Forum, among many others. She is Trustee of Malaria No More UK and the Coutts Foundation, where she is Chair of the Audit, Finance and Investment Committee. She has also been an advisor to the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), and a Board member of London & Partners, the official promotion agency for London.

In addition to her academic work, Linda is a broadcaster for TV and radio and was the BBC’s Chief Business Correspondent and host of “Talking Business with Linda Yueh”, as well as Economics Editor at Bloomberg TV.

Valter Viero

Valter Viero was appointed Assistant Financial Director of Acciaierie Valbruna SpA in 1990 and today holds several positions as Director and Secretary for subsidiaries throughout the Group. His primary role involves supervising the International Operations of the Valbruna Group, including its international Credit Management.

Valter became Director of JV Avesta Valbruna AB (now Valbruna Nordic AB) in Sweden in 1992. He was appointed Director and Secretary of Valbruna UK in 2003 and of Valbruna Stainless Inc. and Valbruna Slater Stainless Inc. in Fort Wayne, Indiana, US in 2004. He joined the Board of Valbruna ASW in Welland, Ontario, Canada, after its acquisition by the Valbruna Group in September 2019.

The Valbruna Group is a leading international manufacturer and distributor of stainless steel and nickel alloys, bars and wires for critical applications in strategic industries, including energy, automotive, aerospace and medical. In operation for close to 100 years, the EUR 1 billion sales Group has 2,700 employees worldwide operating out of four major manufacturing facilities and 42 subsidiaries.

A Certified Public Accountant in Italy, Valter graduated Magna Cum Laude in Economics and Business Administration at the University of Turin in 1989 and with an MBA from CUOA of Vicenza in 1990. He speaks Italian, English, Spanish and French.

Bart Jan Koopman

Bart Jan Koopman is the Director of evofenedex, the Dutch association for trade, export, import and logistics, which represents some 15,000 companies in the Netherlands. Evofenedex was created in 2015 when, as the Managing Director of the Dutch export organisation Fenedex, Bart Jan facilitated the merger with the logistics organisation, EVO.

As a founding partner Bart Jan was instrumental in setting up the current public-private partnership, Netherlands in Business (NL IB), together with the national employers organisation VNO-NCW. He advises SMEs and multinationals on their international strategy and advises the Dutch government on issues affecting the trade strategy.

Bart Jan has served on the Supervisory Board of several companies, as well as on the Advisory Board for Dispute Settlement for the consultancy sector in the Netherlands.

After finishing degrees in both General and Business Economics and Law at the University of Amsterdam, Bart Jan joined the Dutch multinational AkzoNobel as a management trainee in 1986. Until the end of 1996 he held various international marketing and sales management positions, after which he was promoted to Global Marketing Director and Country Director for AkzoNobel Coatings. From 2000 until 2007 Bart Jan was employed as Top Executive and Business Unit Manager Decorative Coatings Retail & Trade (turnover> 1 billion EUR) and CEO of AkzoNobel France. In 2008 AkzoNobel appointed him Global Integration Manager for the ICI acquisition.

Eric den Boogert

Eric den Boogert was appointed to the position of Managing Director of Atradius in Asia in 2011. A member of the Atradius Leadership Team, he is directly responsible for all operations and strategy in Asia and the Middle East.

Eric joined the company in 1995 and has worked in commercial functions located in the Netherlands (Breda), Germany (Cologne), the UK (London) and India (Mumbai) before relocating to Hong Kong in January 2006 to take on the post of Regional Sales Manager New Markets. He was later promoted to Deputy Regional Director New Markets and Country Manager for Hong Kong.

In his previous roles, Eric was responsible for business development in Japan, China, Hong Kong, India, UAE and Brazil as Regional Sales Manager, where he succeeded in achieving growth ahead of target every year.

A law graduate from Erasmus University, Rotterdam (Netherlands), Eric’s extensive experience of working with emerging markets in Asia, the Middle East and South America provides him with a highly developed commercial understanding, which has helped shape the services and solutions provided by Atradius in Asia.
